Windows 11 22H2 not working on few systems due to printer issues

Microsoft is now blocking the Windows 11 22H2 update due to the compatibility issues affecting Windows devices with printers using Class Drivers. On affected systems, some installed printers allow customers to use the default settings with features such as

  • Colour,
  • 2-sided printing, or
  • Higher resolutions not available with connectivity issues.

Microsoft explained, Windows needs connectivity to the printer to identify all the features of the printer.

According to Microsoft, reinstalling the printer will force Windows to download and reinstall the drivers, which should mitigate the problems. It also advises customers not to manually install the Windows 11 2022 Update on affected systems.

“If Windows does not automatically find a new driver after the printer is added, look for one on the device manufacturer’s website and follow their installation instructions,”
